Mariangela Vacatello is an international pianist, a former child prodigy and prizewinner at major international competitions including Liszt, Busoni, Van Cliburn, Queen Elisabeth, Santander, and Tongyeon. Known for her virtuosity and versatility, she explores a repertoire ranging from Baroque to contemporary avant-garde. She has recorded Liszt, Debussy, and Scriabin for Brilliant Classics, and Schumann, Chopin, and Scriabin for Stradivarius, and performs in prestigious venues such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Wigmore Hall in London, Teatro San Carlo in Naples, Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord in Paris, Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles, Oriental Centre in Shanghai, and Linder Auditorium in Johannesburg also working with conductors Krystof Penderecky, Andris Nelsons, Gabor Takacs-Nagy, Martin Haselboeck, Xian Zhang, Alexander Shelley, Andrès Orozco-Estrada, Daniel Kawka, Zsolt Hamar, Alain Lombard, Claus Peter Flor, Robert Trevino, Ilan Volkov. Mariangela goes beyond traditional concert settings, exploring the intersection of piano and electronics through collaborations with IRCAM in Paris, presenting innovative works. In addition to performing and recording, she is a dedicated educator, teaching and giving international masterclasses, sharing her passion and expertise with new generations. Since 2024, she his the Artistic Director of the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano, continuing to innovate and present projects that unite tradition and experimentation.
