Marina Mello is a Brazilian harpist based in Zurich. After years of studying classical and contemporary music between Brazil and Switzerland, she has developed a unique and expressive approach, exploring the harp’s infinite possibilities. Her artistic journey is centered on researching new sound textures, flowing from bittersweet whale chants to destructive, unsettling noise provocations and melodic moments. Marina Mello pushes the musical boundaries of the harp by focusing on non-traditional playing techniques—using extended techniques, preparation with objects, and effects on pedal, lever, and electric harps.
