Marlyn is an enigmatic siren. The transgender Cuban-American singer, songwriter and artist took an 8-year hiatus for self-discovery and transformation, only to emerge with fearless authenticity, fantastical rave energy, ethereal techno-pop, and raw, heartfelt vocals. In 2022, a shattering breakup sparked a deep, cathartic period of songwriting—messy demos that became a form of therapy. While healing in Europe, Marlyn met music producer Dimitri Tenot and English songwriter Ryro, inspiring the creation of Ignite, a bold new pop project. The momentum accelerated: Marlyn’s demo of Zombie caught the attention of fashion director Senio Zapruder, leading to a stunning music video shot in Milan, featured in Rolling Stone Italia and DSquared’s SS24 digital campaign. Her collaboration with Harper’s Bazaar Italia and Dolce & Gabbana on the 72 Hours project premiered as a fashion film at the Istanbul Fashion Film Festival in November 2023. Now, with Ignite—a 7-track EP pulsating with earnest pop energy—set for a spring release, Marlyn stands at the forefront of a bold new era. Her music is a siren’s call to anyone daring enough to dance through the darkness.
