Greetings from the Czech Republic! Hard-hitting — that’s the only way to describe this fearless Moravian group. There’s no poetry, no ambiguity — just direct, raw honesty as Märnø tackles some very uncomfortable subjects head-on. The blunt lyrics in their native language are just as important as the music itself. Their distinctive sound draws from neo-crust, hardcore, black metal, post-rock and D-beat, creating a dark and uncompromising blend that is as atmospheric as it is aggressive. Following their debut EP Nevinnost Prázdných Srdcí in 2022, Märnø quickly became a notable name within the Czech-Slovak underground crust punk scene. In 2025, the band released their debut full-length Via Incognita through Ultima Ratio Records — a record that marked a major step forward for the band. Via Incognita received two awards at the Czech underground music awards Břitva 2025, winning Album of the Year in the punk, hardcore & grindcore category and Discovery of the Year. Märnø have since taken their uncompromising live show beyond the Czech and Slovak borders, completing EU tours alongside Verrat, Ancst and Svdestada, with shows across Germany, Hungary, Poland and Austria. Alongside their international appearances, the band has played countless shows throughout the Czech Republic and Slovakia, steadily building their reputation as one of the most relentless acts emerging from the Czech underground.
