An underground jazz artist.
Martino Vercesi was born in Milan. He began to study modern guitar when he was ten years old. He studied classical guitar and in 2002 he graduated from the “G.Verdi” Conservatory in Milan with the highest possible marks. Martino then completed his training in classical guitar with Bruno Giuffredi and Andrea Dieci, and also with Gigi Cifarelli, Luca Meneghello and Pasquale Grasso in jazz guitar. Since then Martino has collaborated with numerous noteworthy musicians such as Luigi Bonafede, Tony Arco, Giovanni Falzone, Marco Vaggi, Sandro Cerino, Fabrizio Trullu, Ares Tavolazzi, Luca Dell’Anna, Antonio Fusco and Marcello Testa. He has played in several Italian and overseas jazz clubs such as the Blue Note Milan, Porgy and Bess Vienna, Jazz Club Chur, Jazz Club Torino. Martino has played on live radio, and received flattering reviews in numerous specialist magazines (See Jazz Music, Classical Radio, Radio Vertigo 1, Kristall Radio, Anima Jazz). He has appeared on many album releases both as a bandleader and as a part of various group formations.
Martino Vercesi plays sophisticated jazz guitar, blending classical conservatory training with traditional bebop and swing influences.
