A nostalgic, underground soft pop artist.
Mary McGuinness was born in Fort Hood, Texas to a korean mother and irish special forces father. As a young child she lived with relatives in Seoul , before being taken in and raised by her Grandfather in New York. Music became both her sanctuary and compass, and these formative experiences shaped her artistry and writing with themes of belonging, identity, and hope. Her music lives at the crossroads of folk-americana, laurel canyon and classic country, shaped by personal history and stories to tell. Her latest album Shadowcatcher , made in Nashville with producer Joe Pisapia (KD Lang/Ben Folds), and most recently, new recordings at FAME studios in Muscle Shoals, AL produced by Dylan Le Blanc, will be released in 2026.
Mary McGuinness plays a warm blend of folk-americana, Laurel Canyon pop, and classic country rooted in cosmic 1970s aesthetics.
Mary McGuinness was born in Fort Hood, Texas, and is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee.
