Mike Nowotarski

I'm a guitarist from New York City, as well as an educator and multi-instrumentalist. I play in a variety of ensembles around the city and have been lucky enough to do some touring over the last few years, mostly on the east coast of the United States, but also in California and Brazil. Right now I'm focused on exploring an interest in music for early cinema and perform in a Chamber Folk ensemble called Aesop's Sound Fables. We perform semi-improvised live scores to silent film. I also make my own audio reactive video art in Max Jitter. In December of 2023, I released my most recent album, Here's to Our Friendship! It's a collection of songs inspired by a particularly poignant scenes in Charlie Chaplin's 1931 film, City Lights.
