A homegrown, underground jazz artist.
Mindaugas Stumbras is a Lithuanian guitarist and composer. His music is very dynamical, colourful and versatile. Beautiful and picturesque compositions are influenced by broad European jazz scene, American jazz tradition, Lithuanian folk music and Scandinavian improvisational music scene. Exciting and emotional melodies represent a mature and soft northern sound which sometimes can be interrupted by massive bursts of power and dissonance. Melancholic and nostalgic melodies merged with meditative flow of the harmony create a warm atmosphere and forms the way this music sounds. Mindaugas Stumbras played and toured internationally with some of the finest jazz artists and bands like Brave Noises, Seamus Blake, Fergus McCreadie, Kenny Wollesen, Luis Diego Bonilla and JM Jazz World Orchestra, Kenneth Dahl Knudsen, Michelangelo Scandroglio, etc.
Mindaugas Stumbras plays contemporary jazz and folk-infused world music, highlighted by intricate acoustic and electric guitar compositions.
