Misster

Misster is a self-produced electronic performer and recording artist. Reminiscent of 2000s electroclash, their music is littered with bouncing synths and sarcastic lyrics. Self-described as the Filipino love-child of Slayyyter and David Byrne, Misster finds a middle ground between performance art and pop music. They are simultaneously brash and introspective, the party girl with glasses. Misster was born in 2023 after Abi Mirambel had an existential crisis. Mirambel wasn’t always a pop artist but they have always made noise. At 13 years old, they were almost suspended from middle school for making and giving out pro-choice pins to their classmates. In high school, they organized school-wide protests that garnered support from state officials and coverage from local news stations. They were set to study political science, public policy, or something along those lines at an ivy league. But then something shifted. At the very last moment, they ran away from their Virginia hometown to New York City to make electronic music. That being said, the noise never settled. Though Mirambel finally realized that the only thing they could ever do was make music, their fervor for social change simply switched mediums. The Misster world is about asking questions about who we are and who we are to each other. Every song and show poses a question and engages in curiosity and community-building. And with the next Misster album (coming to you in early 2027), the noise will only get louder.
