Meet Mixolis – the London-based DJ with a passion for Amapiano, Afrotech & Soulful house. Born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, Mixolis is deeply rooted in his African heritage, which has driven him to spread the Southern African sound across the UK. From a young age, he made a name for himself as a pioneer in the music scene, earning him the title of the ‘God Father’ in the UK Amapiano Scene. With over a decade-long career, Mixolis is a trusted and respected DJ who has played in venues across Europe, Africa, and North America. He has graced the stages of renowned platforms such as Ministry of Sound, Boiler Room, Koko Camden, AMAFEST, Djoon Paris, El Faro, Odonien Cologne and many more. Mixolis is known for his ability to take his audience on a journey, experimenting with various techniques to create distinctive and captivating sets. His unique approach has made him a sought-after name in the UK. In addition to guest mixes/appearances on major platforms such as the BBC, Mixolis has had a fantastic 2022, winning the Global African Awards DJ of the Year. Mixolis also hosts a monthly Underground African Electronic music event called SONKE, which consistently sells out. As if that wasn't enough, he has also stepped into the Producer/Artist world, with two songs released in May, 2023 is shaping up to be an even more significant year for Mixolis, as he continues to champion the sound.
