An underground electronic act.
Alternative electronic 4-piece Monks have been bubbling away in the Liverpool underground scene for years. Since forming when they were only 16 and releasing their first singles, Dreamboat and Sundried in the summer of 2018, Monks have experimented with their sound, touring relentlessly across the UK and France with their electronic high-energy hybrid DJ set. Described by the London Evening Standard as "they look like Geese but they sound like The Dare.” Their track ‘third location’ was crowned BBC Radio 6’s introducing track of the week and remixed by 1-800 GIRLS. Monks are heading back out on tour in October across the U.K. and with an appearance at this year's Left of the Dial, Rotterdam.
Monks play an alternative electronic style that blends guitar-based indie influences with high-energy dance grooves and ethereal synth textures, receiving backing from BBC Radio 6 Music.
Monks is from Liverpool, United Kingdom, emerging directly out of the city's vibrant underground music scene.
