Origin: The Moped Lads are one of the longest-serving punk bands in Switzerland and enjoy a strong cult following. They took their name partly from Peter & The Test Tube Babies and partly from Johnny Moped, in whose tradition they see themselves. Ideology: Three chords, Two strokes, One family! Current Line-up: Sony Moped (vocals) Dandy Moped (guitar) P.C. Moped (guitar) Dana Moped (backing vocals) Dusty Moped (bass) Phil-t Moped (drums) The band came together in 1992 and was formed from members of classic Swiss punk bands such as Crazy, Take A Virgin, A.C.H., as well as Swiss 60s garage punk bands like Flying Shrimps and Reaction. Together, they decided to revive and cultivate the attitude of the first punk bands — an attitude they themselves embodied, having already roamed the streets back in those days.
