Mörkvarg is a four-piece speed/thrash metal band from Riga, Latvia. The band consists of Max (lead vocals/guitars), Dee (bass/backing vocals), Jacques (guitars/backing vocals), and Carlos (drums). Their music is a blend of the old school 1980s thrash, speed, heavy, and power metal spirit slightly spiced with modern and progressive tendencies. Initially, some demos composed by Dee sounded more like straightforward heavy/power metal (e.g. Night Demon, Running Wild), but then during the rehearsals, Max started to bring in his progressive rock/metal-influenced ideas, the mutual love for Megadeth joined the chat, the speedometer and the weirdometer both got out of control, and we ended up with what you can hear on their debut album “Blindfold”, released independently on 29th of May, 2024, and available on all the major streaming platforms.
