Mortimer is a Jamaican recording artist on the rise; a singer with an enthralling voice, who is equally comfortable creating traditional roots reggae as well as contemporary Jamaican music, and who dances between the two to reveal a sound that blends his old-soul sensibilities with progressive youthfulness. Mortimer’s voice effortlessly glides between a raspy, smoky alto and a silky falsetto, with an unhurried delivery that has become signature of his sound. Hailed as one of the key “artists shaping contemporary reggae,” by GRAMMY.com, Mortimer has been a key player in the current wave of Jamaican reggae. His debut album From Within follows his 2019 EP Fight The Fight and its standout single “Lightning” – with over 25M + YT views and dubbed "pure love in its heavenliness” by The FADER. His own singles, along with guest features on tracks by Protoje, Keznamdi, Jaz Elise, and Khalia, struck a chord with audiences worldwide and solidified Mortimer's position as a breakout artist in the scene. Mortimer’s recent features include a remix to Jorja Smith's Great Gift, and contributions to Winta’s Gratitude Riddim, Samory I’s Strength, and a David Bowie cover on Easy Star All-Stars’ Ziggy Stardub.
