With her signature blend of ethereal folk and cinematic pop minimalism, néomí channels a quiet but cutting heartbreak, soaked in introspection and raw lyricism. “‘Didn’t I’ is a song about an inevitable kind of love, one that you wish in the end didn’t happen at all,” néomí explains. “It’s about being in a difficult relationship where you are being held responsible for your partner’s repeated attempts to sabotage things. You’re left wondering: ‘Did I do enough?’ or ‘Was I enough?’ — when in fact, those are the questions they should be asking themselves.”
