A homegrown laiko artist.
Nikos Zoidakis was born and raised in Chania, Crete. He first picked up the Cretan lyra in 1979 and began his professional music career in 1981. Deeply rooted in the island’s musical traditions, he has collaborated with all major Cretan artists over the years. His first album, "Tis Agapis to Champeri", was released in 1986 in collaboration with Pantelis Krasadakis and Michalis Tzouganakis. Since then, he has released over 20 personal albums, including five multi-platinum, four platinum, and six gold records. In addition, he has participated in more than 30 collaborative projects. Zoidakis has performed all across Greece and internationally—in the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe—receiving enthusiastic responses from both Greek and international audiences. He has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Greek music, including Vasilis Karras, Anna Vissi, Vasilis Papakonstantinou, Giorgos Margaritis, Paola, and Glykeria. His work with Heaven Music includes albums like "Kravges", the triple collection "Me Agapi", and hit singles such as "Ta Pano Kato", "Vendetta" (with the late Vasilis Karras), "To Pio Omorfo Louloudi", and "To Fili Tis Zois".
