Nikos Zournis, guitarist and songwriter, drawing influences from global folk music, creates a unique acoustic sound that blends and merges Eastern and Western musical idioms. He was born in Athens and grew up in Aspra Spitia, a small town where, at the age of 15, he started music lessons. He learned to play classical guitar while simultaneously studying music theory. After graduating from high school, he entered the University of Athens, School of Philosophy - Music Department. It was then that he began performing on stage, playing his own songs or participating as a guitarist in folk music bands. Now he has his own band, consisting of five permanent musicians, and they perform in Athens and all over Greece.
