Nicolás Sánchez aka Nyksan is a Bogotá born - London-based sound artist, DJ and producer. As a sound artist, Nyksan dissolves the boundaries between synthesis and field recordings to create experimental yet primitive spaces. Immersive drone running into the jungle, stealthy ambience and instrumentals stalk you through the undergrowth. Creating a constant sonic tension with our memories and the dream realm. Nicolás is also co-founder of Tratratrax, a key Latinx label pursuing the quest of amplifying the mighty sonic fire from Sur América and the Global South. TraTraTrax has been coined “Colombian powerhouse label” by Pitchfork, Crack Magazine cover in 2023 and were named the "label of the year" by Resident Advisor in 2022. With his productions and DJ sets, Nyksan always leans toward the adventurous end of the sonic spectrum. Covering anything from techno, mutant electronics, reggaeton and distinct high energy rhythms.
