Formed in late 2023 (formally known as Ruiness), OMINESS is a gothic bruja doom metal band emerging from the depths of the underground scene based out of Ohlone & Pomo land, also known as Oakland & Santa Rosa, CA. OMINESS’ lyrics are threaded with themes of decolonization, feminist rage, queer and fat liberation - with Mexican Catholic undertones inspired by the singer’s upbringing; more, the struggles endured by organized religion and machismo. Latina feminine rage is poured through agonizing banshee wails and darkened sultress vocals. With sludgey, somber, gazey guitars, and a gargantuan rhythm section - the sounds of ominess magick will lure any creature out of the shadows.
