An underground power pop act.
NYC's Onesie have spent the last six years chiseling out their own idiosyncratic place in the musical landscape. Combining the trim, confectionary songwriting of 70s power pop and the sledgehammer crunch of 90s DIY punk hardcore, the group transmute our collective neuroses into something that will make you dance, air guitar, laugh, and cry…often in the same verse. As a genre bending catch-all project for timeless, obtuse guitar pop, Onesie remain difficult to categorize, but for those looking for a turbocharged testament to substance, here comes your band. “...Angular, clever, left field Pop...one of the best things that I've heard in ages.” - I Don’t Hear A Single "4/5..If legends like Big Star, Pavement, and Teenage Fanclub have consumed any considerable part of your life, Umpteenth certainly deserves a spot in your collection, too..." - New Noise Magazine “8/10...demands repeat plays...a bit of glam and bouncy pop...huge hooks that’ll keep you listening. Highly Recommended for sure.” - Powerpopaholic “...merges the sugar rush of Big Star/Shoes/Buzzcocks-inspired power pop with the blasting guitars and tender/non-sequitur lyrics of ’90s indie.” - The Big Takeover “...dual guitar attack, layered vocals, abundantly quirky and often absurd lyrics, huge hooks and addictive melodies.” - Counterzine “...Beatles-influenced psych-pop...Onesie know exactly what they’re doing and seem to be doing it pretty well...Put it in the arty, smarty-pants indie rock bin…” - Razorcake
