Opening Theory is a Bucharest-based trio that blends the complex rhythms of progressive rock with a nu-jazz sensibility, all wrapped up in an energetic electronic sound. Inspired by the numerous possibilities and steps of chess openings (hence the name of the band), the three musicians aim for creating a balance between aggressive punch and spacy soundscapes; pointy, angular riffs and rich, fuzzy harmonies, all in a show that's meant to electrify.
