A polished, underground minimalism artist.
The French pianist Paloma Kouider trained with Sergueï Markarov, Eliso Virsaladze and Avedis Kouyoumdjian. Invited at a very young age to perform as a soloist in prestigious programmes, Paloma initially turned to literature before turning to music. Noted for her first solo disc devoted to Beethoven and Liszt, Paloma has been weaving a special bond with chamber music since the founding of the Trio Karénine in 2009. With her faithful partners in the trio, winner of the ARD competition in Munich, she travels to the most prestigious festivals and major concert halls in the world: La Roque d'Anthéron, the Folles Journées in Nantes and Tokyo, the Wigmore Hall, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Concertgebow in Amsterdam, the Frick Collection in New York, Sydney Opera House... an experience that makes her a sought-after partner, both on stage and on record. Paloma is also very involved in contemporary creation, working closely with composers Benoît Menut, Franck Krawczyk, Raphaël Sévère and Benjamin Attahir , the performance of a work by the latter giving her the opportunity to receive the André Hoffmann Prize of the “Sommets musicaux de Gstaad", alongside cellist Anastasia Kobekina. Her passion for Ludwig van Beethoven led her to record an album in which early works, and mature works meet each other in a new way. More broadly, her practice of this repertoire has led her to the old pianos that she plays more and more regularly.
Paloma Kouider performs classical and chamber music, specializing in expressive interpretations of Beethoven alongside contemporary classical compositions.
