An underground entehno artist.
Born and raised in Athens, of Greek-Jewish descent, I was playing music even before I left school—it was always what I wanted to do. I went on to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London (1975–1980), and later at the École Normale de Musique de Paris. Upon my return to Greece, as musician and arranger I had the privilege of meeting and working with Manos Hadjidakis, Dionisis Savopoulos, who became a strong influence on me—along with many others that i never met. Since 1986, I’ve been writing words and music—soundtracks, theatre, documentaries. I write for almost anyone who asks me to put "10 notes in a row." In 2003, I co-founded the indie record label Cantini.

Panagiotis Kalantzopoulos's live sets are atmospheric and controlled - built around sound detail and dynamics rather than spectacle.
