Following the dissolution of Budapest junk-pop heroes Amorf Ördögök, Hungarian singer and actress Péterfy Bori formed her own group, Péterfy Bori & Love Band, which reunited several of her previous bandmates. Melding edgy indie rock with elements of pop, electronic, chanson, and even reggae, the band's eponymous 2007 debut was a major success in Hungary and eventually reached platinum status. Subsequent albums, 2 (2009) and 2B (2010) also fared well commercially, cementing the Love Band's fame. Bori's mix of glamor and underground grit, paired with the band's inventive arrangements, made them a favorite of critics and their fourth album, 2012's Fehér Ejszakák, was nominated for the Phonogram Prize for Best Alternative Album in 2013. Following 2016's Szédülés, the Love Band returned in 2017 with Bori X, an album that celebrated their tenth anniversary together. ~ Timothy Monger
