“remember when” is a fall sunset on the edge of winter, looking through old memories and wondering what happened to the people we thought we’d always know. I've had a couple friends pass away in the last couple of years and it reminded me how fleeting life is. Because, how could we know everything about each other at 19 and now I can’t just call them. This song started as another song about loss, but somewhere between the laughter and the tears, the memories, and the writing of “remember when,” I realized I wasn't just finding you again. I was finding myself. Because, love is never really lost. This is my love letter to all the people we've met, loved, and lost somewhere between space and time. For the versions of ourselves they knew, and the strangers we've become since saying goodbye. This song is for you.
