A polished, underground classical artist.
Born in Minsk, Polina De Carlo is a pianist of the great classical tradition of Eastern Europe. She began studying at the age of five at the Specialized Music Lyceum for Gifted Children affiliated with the Belarusian State Academy of Music, where, after receiving rigorous training, she obtained a Master's degree in Piano Performance, Pedagogy, Chamber Music, and Collaborative Piano. She went on to build her career in New York as a recitalist, chamber musician, educator, and adjudicator, developing a musical voice shaped by the best of both the Eastern and Western piano traditions. In recent years, she has also expanded her activities to France, a country that holds a special place in her artistic life, where she continues to perform. Her recordings span the Romantic, French, and classical crossover repertoire, with interpretations reflecting her individual musical style. In 2025, she provided the piano performances for the leading heroine in Jacques Otmezguine's feature film Le Choix du Pianiste (The Piano Choice) and recorded works by Frédéric Chopin and other composers. Distinguished by the elegance of her touch, technical refinement, and expressive depth, Polina De Carlo combines the discipline of a great classical tradition with a deeply personal musical sensibility and artistry.
