London trio PVA return to their second album, No More Like This, with A Dream Like This - a reimagined companion to the record that strips back its visceral electronic core into something more intimate, drawing listeners deeper into the band's world. Built upon an idea developed for their in-store performances, it reshapes the album into a more exposed form. Enlisting the help of Ruby Kyriakedes (cello) and TATYANA (harp), PVA push the original's blend of electronics and acoustics into something more tender without losing its physicality and intensity. Pulsing low end, warped synths and tactile rhythms remain, now joined by the depth and ache of the cello and the delicate shimmer of the harp, with Ella Harris's vocals and live instrumentation moving between restraint and raw force. As the band put it: "While putting together these versions for our in-store tour we explored how we can present No More Like This in a new world. With the help of Ruby Kyriakedes and TATYANA, we pushed the blend of electronics and acoustics into something that felt tender and visceral with depth and intention. It opened up a new space for us to exist." Where the original album was raging yet hopeful, dark yet shot through with joy, A Dream Like This finds a quieter intensity - reworkings that open up space for something more exposed, rooted in sweat and shared space, and a different kind of emotional connection.
