An underground latin alternative artist.
Fueled by his Afro-Latin roots and Dominican upbringing, Rauli V is carving out his own lane with a sound he calls Punk Urbano, a high-energy fusion of punk, alternative rock, Latin trap, R&B, and Caribbean rhythm. Born in New York City, shaped in Santo Domingo, and now representing the DMV by way of PG County, Rauli’s music is built from survival, culture, and emotional release. As a kid, he turned to music into an escape from labels and expectations, realizing that music doesn’t care where you’re from, it only cares whether people can feel it. His debut EP, Breathe, introduced him as one of the rising Black alternative voices helping push the underground scene forward. Afro-punk described his sound as “anthemic,” while his visual for “Can’t Feel” quickly gained traction on YouTube. He followed with “ENVY,” a single that sharpened his identity and spotlighted the Black and Brown communities driving alternative music into new territory. Now in 2026, Rauli V is stepping fully into his next era, crossing deeper into the Latin scene with records like “Me Quité” and “Brinken.” New Noise Magazine praised his fusion of rock and Latin trap, calling it “a testament to the strength and resilience of the Dominican rock scene.” From intimate rooms to high-energy stages, Rauli V brings more than songs, he brings a movement. Blending raw guitars, urbano swagger, and Dominican soul, he is expanding what Latin alternative can sound like and making noise without asking for permission.
