 Born in the city of Brentwood, LI, NY; Kashif "Retrospec" Howard has been musically inclined since the age of 11, listening to his mothers old r&b hits and records as well as his stepdads old hip hop CD’s, while in middle school. He wrote his first song at age 11 and the rest is history. At the age of 12 he started making beats for fun, then wanted to make it a career. FastForwad he linked up with upcoming Hip Hop SuperGroup "Tribe NYC". Since, the crew has performed at many places around the five boroughs, In July 2013, The crew released "Thug Passion" a track that samples the Tupac original. Deep Thoughts and NBA Games" which originally was supposed to release on July 23rd and featured Retrospec rapping but got pushed back But on October 31, 2013 was the day DTNG was finally released and has achieved critical acclaim since its release, a 23 track album; being engineered by Trevor Deblase of Pro Era. Now a days Retrospec is producing beats and has stepped back from the MCing to Produce EPs for people; whilst also putting out BeatTapes. He currently has music coming with upcoming artists; HERSTORY, Magno Garcia, Haze, Sekwence, Evlow, Marie Elizabeth; HeatbreakJulio and Stoop Rebel Murda. His rap influences include Rakim, Big L, Nas, Big Pun, Common, Ghostface, Cam'ron, and Theophilus London. His Producer Influences include Alchemist, 9th Wonder, DJ Premier, Kanye West, Araab Muzik, Madlib and many others.
