Rev. Vince Anderson & The Love Choir
A homegrown, high-energy gospel artist.
Born in Fresno, CA, Vince moved to NYC in '94 to study at Union Theological Seminary, planning to become a Methodist minister. He lasted three months before sensing a new direction: to take his music and message to where the people were – into bars and clubs. He started holding weekly “services” in NYC's Lower East Side and Williamsburg which have now been an NYC institution for over 25 years. He now plays every Monday of the year at renowned Brooklyn venue Union Pool with his band The Love Choir, with Moist Paula Henderson on bari sax, Dave Smoota Smith on trombone, Jaleel Bunton on guitar, Dan Fabricatore on bass, and Ryan Sawyer on drums. THE REVEREND, a documentary about Vince by Nick Canfield, is now streaming on The Criterion Channel and available VOD on Amazon Prime after and award-winning festival run.
