An underground indie folk artist.
Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter Rod Alonzo crafts music that lives where vulnerability meets grit. With a voice that carries both weight and warmth, Rod blends indie soul, alt-pop, and R&B influences into songs that feel at once timeless and deeply personal. His lyrics are journal entries set to melody—honest, reflective, and charged with emotion. Raised on classic soul and raised by the rhythms of the city, Rod's music is steeped in storytelling. Whether it's a late-night confession, a whispered apology, or a shouted anthem for healing, every track invites listeners into his world with unflinching sincerity. Since emerging from New York's underground scene, Rod has built a growing fanbase on the strength of his live performances and intimate songwriting. Each release feels like a step deeper into his artistic journey—unfiltered, evolving, and rooted in truth. For fans of Frank Ocean, Elliott Smith, Leon Bridges, Nick Drake, and James Blake, Rod Alonzo is a voice to watch—honest music for complicated hearts.
