rrunnerrss
An underground psychedelic rock act.
Tracks5
Founded by award-winning songwriter and composer Michael Zapruder, rrunnerrss brings together veteran Austin musicians Mike St. Clair (Okkervil River, White Denim), Andy Beaudoin (Nori, Star Parks), Carolyn Trowbridge (Adrian Quesada’s Boleros Psicodélicos, Black Pumas), Lauren Gurgiolo (Heartless Bastards, Okkervil River), and Wiley Green (Pocket Sounds, Food Group). Together they fuse the pentatonic grooves of North African desert rock with psychedelia and adventurous guitar improvisation, fashioning hypnotic grooves, mantra-like refrains, and surreal imagery into music that feels at once ancient and immediate. “rrunnerrss’ self-titled debut LP… [is] a beautiful but heartbreaking exploration of safety and belonging in a world guaranteeing neither, instead reeling hopelessly toward something more destructive.” - KUTX Austin
