Ryan Allay

Heyo, I’m Ryan - from Cape Coast, Ghana. My friends call me by my day name; Kofi. I make retro soul with an Afro twist under the NorCalifornia sun. I grew up surrounded by rich African rhythms, gospel, reggae, and any other western tunes I heard on the radio, teaching myself piano, guitar, bass, and horns with borrowed instruments from friends who believed in my curiosity. Over time, I fell in love with the warmth of soul, the depth of blues, the richness of jazz, and the groove of R&B. Through YouTube tutorials and mentors I met during my undergrad, I learnt to arrange, produce, mix, and master my music. Every song is a reflection of where I’m from, where I’ve been, and what moves me. I tell stories of love, faith, friendship, and everyday moments - sometimes lighthearted, sometimes vulnerable, but always real and full of positivity.
