Thanks for visiting/listening/being here. New album out now!! ---------- When it gets late and the city buzz fades out, you’ll often find Sam Vano in his bedroom, writing. His process is one of introspection, crafting songs containing a kind of honesty that feels rare these days. Vano’s debut EP, solitaire (2023), released under I Love My Label/Excelsior, was a fitting introduction to his guitar-driven indie-folk. The release was marked by a sold-out show in his hometown of Amsterdam, and it wasn’t long before Sam was on the road, opening for various acts in the Netherlands, England and France. After getting home and settling back into his trusty bedroom, the seeds for his next album began to take root. Though mostly written in a state of disorientation and solitude, Selfhelpingmehelpmyself was recorded in a humble 1-room studio with friends, allowing the material to grow from whispery melancholic demo’s to a lively, compelling record.
