Sara Flindt
Danish-born and Iceland-based, Sara Flindt was shaped by a childhood in a forest and speaks to us now from her home on a windswept rock. She uses sound to move between worlds: between landscapes, dreamscapes, and technospheres. Using a homemade pedal board, Sara transforms her voice into both an expression of herself and an object outside herself. In her music, senses and dreams compete with memory in a way that is both disorienting and revealing, and Sara blends the organic and the technological with a playfulness that is as vulnerable as it is mystical. Her EP It’s Always Nice To Be Wanted is being released in spring 2023. A meditation on the idea of home and was recorded in different home-spaces with many of the friends that have helped shape Sara Flindt’s own home across landscapes. Sara previously wrote and performed under the artist name ZAAR in venues and festivals such as Rockwood Music Hall (USA), Spot festival (Denmark), G!Festival (Faroe Island) Iceland Airwaves (Iceland) and Roskilde Festival (Denmark). Her split album While We Wait, in collaboration with the Icelandic artists RAKEL and Salóme Katrín, was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards 2022 Album of the Year.
