From Season 2 of NBC’s The Voice, 2026 Kerrville New Folk Winner, Sarah Golden, is a contemporary folk singer/songwriter from Houston, TX known for her powerful vocals and evocative lyrics, reminiscent of Woody Guthrie and Joan Baez— one listener aptly describes her as, “funny, but also deadly serious”. Winner of Best of North America - Folk in the 2026 and 2025 InterContinental Music Awards, Golden has captivated audiences since the release of her debut album Truth, in 2002, which led to her selection as a Kerrville Folk Festival Ballad Tree performer. Throughout her career, she has shared the stage with such acclaimed artists as Amy Ray (of the Indigo Girls), Shawn Colvin, Mary Gauthier, Susan Gibson, and Ruthie Foster. Nominated Favorite Local Musician and Favorite Female Entertainer in OutSmart Magazine’s 2025 Gayest & Greatest Reader’s Choice Awards, her highly anticipated forthcoming album, Live Wire, is set for release November 13, 2026 and focuses on her sociopolitical activism and human rights advocacy.
