An underground americana artist.
Sean Kiely is an alt-folksinger from Jersey City, NJ. His new album, Long Live The Low, arrives October 16, 2026 (Multiple Logo) .. a nine-song love letter to the weeds, the dry rot, the small stuff underfoot that nobody's looking at. An ode to entropy, even when it comes a-calling for the stuff we love. The title track is out now, following the singles "This Is the Year" (featuring Juno Award-winning artist Kaia Kater on vocals and banjo) and the hypnotic tone poem “Misunderstanding." The album was made over two days at Restoration Sound in Brooklyn, recorded by Lorenzo Wolff and produced by Kiely. The band features longtime collaborators Chris Parker (guitar) and Bill Campbell (drums), plus acclaimed bassist and songwriter Chris Morrissey (Norah Jones, Margaret Glaspy), and Bobby Hawk (Phoebe Bridgers, Bleachers) on violin. With guest appearances by Jean Rohe, Kaia Kater, and Jeff Taylor. Mixed by Adam Brisbin, mastered by Nate Wood, cover art by Ashley Blanton. Kiely's previous record, Postcards of the Reckoning, was named one of NJ.com's top 10 albums of 2024 and debuted at #15 on the FAI Folk Chart. He's opened for Richard Thompson at a sold-out White Eagle Hall, and for Iron & Wine at City Winery NYC for WFUV. He’s toured rooms from Nashville and Chicago to Athens, Asheville, and the Hudson Valley — always creating community and connection around the songs, whether curating a listening-room residency or holding down a stage of his own.
