Sean Payne

Sean Payne is a UK-based saxophonist who first gained national attention after reaching the final of the inaugural BBC Young Jazz Musician in 2014 at age 13. He’s since worked across the UK and Europe, performing with artists including Seamus Blake, Gwilym Simcock, Francesca Tandoi, Soweto Kinch, Laurence Cottle, Pablo Held, Nigel Hitchcock, Kit Downes, Benjamin Herman, and Mark Nightingale. Sean graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music, where he was an Elton John Scholar, and has performed at venues and festivals including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Royal Albert Hall, BIMHUIS, Festival da Jazz St. Moritz, and Jazz à Vienne. “Sean Payne is an absolute beast on the saxophone.
