Semeli Tagara

Semeli Tagara, born and raised in Thessaloniki, was enchanted by music at the age of six when she created her first original composition. She began writing songs and poetry, studied music therapy, and signed with Sony Music in 2002. She has opened shows as a supporting act for artists such as Calexico, Dot Allison and Thalia Zedek, and performed in secret gigs with Steve Wynn (Dream Syndicate) in Thessaloniki and Athens. As a member of the Ghost Note Project, she performed as an opening act for Red Snapper in Thessaloniki. Her avant-garde projects, “Transformation of Silence” and “Lmn Drmpts”, featured saxophone sounds, effects, and loops, and were showcased in Greece and at the Bosh Festival in Skopje. She participated in the tribute Bird On A Wire-A Tribute to the Music of Leonard Cohen with David Lynch & Kostas Maginas, giving performances in various venues in Greece, including the Thessaloniki Concert Hall & Skrow Theater in Athens. New single "The One" off her upcoming new album is out now.
