Shogun Shato

South London born artist Shogun Shato has been heavily informed by a variety of musical genres including grime, hip hop, garage and jazz. He channels these influences in combination with thought-provoking and witty lyricism to create his sound. Songs have the ability to paint a picture of an entirely new world in someone's mind, and that is what sparked his passion for both music and storytelling. While refining his sound, Shogun Shato has been very active in London’s grassroots music scene. Frequently featuring on stage at some of London’s biggest music events including Orii Jam, NOISE (What Does Not), Tracks On Tap and the Five Points Project, Shogun Shato has cemented himself as someone who belongs on the stage. After success in the early years of his career, including featuring on BBC Introducing and SBTV, Shogun Shato is looking to build what he hopes can be a community of people that care about ‘music with a message’. After the release of his last EP 'Road Trippin', recently winning a Youth Music award and being named as one of Youth Music's One to Watch artists for 2026, Shogun Shato has been relatively quiet; appearing on a only a few features so far this year. However, it feels like something is brewing....
