Silver Tooth Cactus is an eclectic and hard hitting rock and roll band that came together over quarantine to bring some rock and roll energy back into the world. With a sound pulling from legendary bluesmen like Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf by way of rock legends Motörhead and David Bowie via intense metal acts like Meshuggah and Rage Against The Machine, their approach is primed to stun the world. They are exactly the sort of pandemic project that we need. The band came together as a collection of some of the most intense side men in New York City’s vibrant music scene. Operating under a pseudonym, bassist Stu Gamble began writing bass riff after bass riff during quarantine and sending them to vocalist, Deetdah for lyrics, guitarist Theo Tide, and a drummer known only as The Lion. Piece by piece and after a slew of rehearsals, the riffs developed into a batch of finished songs. The band recorded their 11 track album in February of 2021 in an attempt to prove to New York City that there still is hope in the underground. Guitarist, Duke Moon, joined the band in May of 2022. Now, they plan to unleash their unique brand of rock and roll energy into the world whilst having fun in the process. With 13 more songs already under way, the band seems likely to be releasing another record very soon. Driven by passion and with creative vibes feeding into each other, Silver Tooth Cactus could very well be the injection of rock and roll energy post-pandemic New York City needs!
