For many years, on the faculty of the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), she created the premier certificate program on Sound, Voice, and Music in the Healing Arts offered by a major academic institution elsewhere. Her latest book Free Your Voice (Sounds True, 2012) has been translated into five languages. She has devoted more than 29 years to the study of classical North Indian music under the direction of the late maestro Ali Akbar Khan.
