An underground noise rock act.
Indulging in their heaviest and gentlest sonic impulses, SKLOSS formed in Austin, TX between American drummer/vocalist Karen Skloss and Scottish guitarist/vocalist Sandy Carson during the COVID lockdown. Surrounded by drums and amps and the need to play loud, the sonic sound of SKLOSS was birthed from heavy psych, post-metal drones, meditative drums, and raw distorted riffs performed with honesty and deliberation. The result is a powerful, atmospheric wall of ‘spacegaze’ to a volume much louder than you’d expect from a duo. The project is an offshoot of their lives as creative professionals. Skloss, a filmmaker who edited seminal films about artists Syd Barrett and Townes Van Zandt, Carson, a former pro BMX rider turned photographer & cinematographer. Their debut EP 'Voices Travel Through This' was released in 2022 and fired them into a special set at Levitation Fest. During the winter of 2023, SKLOSS holed up at Point West Studio with engineer Charles Godfrey (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Swans) to record their pulverizing ethereal debut LP ‘The Pattern Speaks’ released March 2025 on FUZZ CLUB and heavily championed by Iggy Pop on BBC 6. After a marathon SXSW, SKLOSS headed to the UK & EU twice & Mexico pummeling 10 countries in support their album at FuzzClubFest, Supersonic, ManchesterPsych DUNK, Sonic Whip, Desertfest Berlin, Arctangent and Mogwai's BigCity Fest then back to Levitation & SF Psyched Fest. The duo are set record their 2nd album for release in 2027 with Godfrey.
SKLOSS plays a heavy, atmospheric blend of noise rock, spacegaze, and post-metal drones released via Fuzz Club Records.
Their debut full-length album is titled The Pattern Speaks, which was released in March 2025.
