Slanderus is a progressive metal band from California's Inland Empire, founded in 2008 by guitarist and backing vocalist Jason J. Kennedy. Combining technical musicianship, crushing riffs, soaring melodies, and intense live performances, the band draws influence from Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Anthrax, Queensrÿche, and Machine Head while forging a sound uniquely their own. Featuring Allen Alamillo on vocals, Jason J. Kennedy on guitar, and Owen Guercio on drums, Slanderus has become a staple of the Southern California metal scene, performing throughout the region and appearing at venues including the legendary Whisky A Go Go, Stages Santa Ana, Rockefellas, The Slidebar, and The District. The band has shared the stage with notable acts such as Fear Factory, Metal Church, Lions at the Gate, Adema, and Priest. In 2022, Slanderus was voted "Best Local Band" by Inland Empire Magazine. Their latest single, "Poet of the Vine," showcases the band's blend of progressive complexity, heavy grooves, and melodic precision. With nearly two decades of experience and performances alongside almost 100 bands, Slanderus continues its mission to bring powerful, high-energy metal to audiences across Southern California and beyond.
