A stylish, nostalgic christian folk act.
Whilst traveling the world on a raft of their own making, the Sons of Town Hall craft songs of wonder and woe, heartbreak and hope. Their live show is like none other, mixing sublime harmonies with wild tales from their adventures crossing the seas and roaming the land. The Sons have released three records. Their self-titled debut EP features “Honest Man,” a song that, a decade after it was first recorded, has found a remarkable new audience around the world. That unexpected second life led the Sons back to the song, recording “Honest Man (Outdoor Acoustic)” in the open air in Newport, Rhode Island. Fan favourites “The Line Between” and “Louise” appear on their sophomore album, The Adventures of the Sons of Town Hall, while their latest album, Of Ghosts and Gods, includes the sweeping “Antarctica.” Their world extends beyond the records. Madmen Cross the Water - The Adventures of the Sons of Town Hall is an eleven-part comedy-fiction podcast weaving songs, music history and storytelling into the continuing adventures of two men, one raft and a seemingly endless sea. Wherever they wash ashore, Sons of Town Hall invite audiences into a world entirely their own - timeless songs, close harmonies, and stories carried across the water. "Seamless vocal harmonies...stories of sea voyages, betrayal and desolation... a more coherent concept album you’ll be pushed to find" - The Observer “These Sons have fostered an epic adventure.” - American Songwriter
