An underground country act.
Hailing from the heart of Texas, Southwest Son is a five-piece country band out of Austin blending modern rock grit with the soul of Red Dirt country. With a lineup featuring fiddle, electric guitar, bass, drums, and rhythm guitar, the band brings a rich, full-bodied sound that nods to the golden era of Americana while pushing into new sonic territory. Drawing inspiration from the laid-back harmonies reminiscent of bands like the Eagles and the raw edge of today’s outlaw country, Southwest Son crafts songs that feel both timeless and fresh. Whether it’s a slow-burning ballad under open skies or a foot-stomping anthem made for Friday nights, their music carries a warmth and authenticity that’s deeply rooted in the Texas spirit. Known for high-energy live shows and heartfelt songwriting, Southwest Son is quickly becoming a name to watch in the Texas music scene—where fiddle solos meet rock ‘n’ roll riffs, and every song tells a story.
