Stella Heath

Stella Heath is a San Francisco Bay Area jazz vocalist, band leader, and creator of historically rooted concert experiences that illuminate the lives and music of America’s great artists. Since emerging on the scene in 2014, she has built a devoted following for her luminous voice, supple sense of swing, and thoughtfully curated repertoire. Her 2026 release For Billie (Matterhorn Records) grows out of her acclaimed Billie Holiday Project, a deeply researched and musically rich tribute exploring Holiday’s emotional and artistic legacy. Heath is known not only for her vocal command but for weaving historical context into performance, creating immersive evenings that connect audiences to the cultural moment behind the music. A Sonoma County native, she began her artistic life in classical voice and theatre before rediscovering jazz in New York at Harlem pianist Marjorie Eliot’s intimate parlor sessions. Returning to the Bay Area, she established herself in the Hot Club scene and has since developed shows honoring Nat “King” Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Edith Piaf and Billie Holiday. An educator and mother of twins, Heath serves as Education Coordinator for Healdsburg Jazz Festival, advocating for jazz as an essential American art form worthy of study, preservation, and celebration.
