Formed in the mid-1990s in Rouen and Paris, Tahiti 80 is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalists Xavier Boyer, Médéric Gontier, Sylvain Marchand, and Pedro Resende. The band’s name was inspired by a souvenir T-shirt given to Boyer’s father in 1980—a quirky origin story for a group that would go on to redefine indie pop. With the additions of Raphaël Léger on drums and Hadrien Grange on keyboards, Tahiti 80 has released 10 critically acclaimed albums, including their gold-certified debut, Puzzle, which featured the international hit "Heartbeat" and catapulted them to fame across Europe and Asia. Known for their "glorious entente of old and new technology" (MOJO), Tahiti 80 has crafted timeless pop anthems like "Easy," "1,000 Times," "Hurts," "Crush!", and "Big Day." They’ve collaborated with producers such as Richard Swift, Andy Chase, and Tore Johansson. Their discography—Wallpaper For The Soul, Fosbury, Activity Center, The Past, The Present & The Possible, Ballroom, The Sunshine Beat, Vol. 1, Fear of an Acoustic Planet, Here with You, and Hello Hello—showcases their unique journey through pop music. Today, Tahiti 80 begins a new chapter with their 11th album, Rejoice (An Inventory Of Pop Maps), starting with the dreamy pop vibe of the first single, "Too Much Too Fast Too Soon," followed by the raw indie rock revival of "Made Up", the hypnotic meditation of « Wild Romance » and now the Northern Soul meets French Touch flavor of « Dreams Of Glory »
