Telegraph Quartet

The Telegraph Quartet (Eric Chin and Joseph Maile, violins; Pei-Ling Lin, viola; Jeremiah Shaw, cello) formed in 2013 and shortly after won the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition and 2016 Naumburg Award. Hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as “powerfully adept... with a combination of brilliance and subtlety,” they have performed in Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and the Herbst Theatre, and at the Chautauqua Institute, Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival and Emilia Romagna Festival. With a fervent passion for 20th- and 21st-century repertoire, Telegraph has premiered works by John Harbison, Robert Sirota and Osvaldo Golijov. In 2018 their debut album, Into the Light, released on Centaur Records. In 2023, Telegraph released their latest album Divergent Paths on Azica Records, featuring Ravel and Schoenberg. The Quartet has collaborated with renowned artists Leon Fleisher, Simone Dinnerstein, Norman Fischer, Bonnie Hampton, Ian Swensen and the St. Lawrence String Quartet. The Quartet is currently the Quartet-in-Residence at the University of Michigan. They have taught master classes at University of Maryland, Rice University, Morrison Artist Series at San Francisco State University, and abroad at Taipei National University of the Arts, Taiwan Normal University and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. They have also served as artists-in-residence at SoCal Chamber Music Workshop, Crowden Chamber Music Workshop, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
