Teratoma

Formed in Berlin in 2020, Teratoma brings together members from four countries united by a devotion to classic, anti-modern death metal. Rooted in old school extremity but sharpened by diverse musical backgrounds, the band channel bile, groove, and oppressive atmosphere into a sound that feels both reverent and viciously alive. Their debut full-length, Purulent Manifestations, unleashed creeping, momentum-driven savagery: filthy, crawling riffs, primitive double-bass punishment, cavernous tones, and wild, writhing solos. Long-form songs allowed for gory detours and massive mid-tempo grooves, balancing raw aggression with a clear sense of fun and genuine love for the genre’s filthiest corners. With their second full-length, to be released via Me Saco Un Ojo end of March, Teratoma descend further into the abyss. Murky guitars churn over punchy bass and snapping drums as monstrous vocals crown a tidal wave of groove-laden brutality. Atmosphere and heaviness intertwine across 45 suffocating minutes, shifting between whiplash assaults and crawling, doom-soaked decay. Teratoma don’t modernize death metal — they exhume it, rot and all, and revel in its grotesque vitality.
